Job Description:

The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida is currently seeking two dynamic Federal Work-Study students to join our team and assist with various tasks.

Joining the MAE team provides an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills, contribute to the smooth functioning of our department, and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative academic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the relocation of furniture and equipment within offices and labs.
  • Efficiently deliver and pick up supplies or packages between buildings.
  • Provide a warm welcome to guests, offer directions, and escort visitors to meetings.
  • Contribute to event setup and cleanup operations.

Schedule:

  • Standard work shifts are on weekdays, between 8am to 5pm.
  • A commitment throughout Summer 2024 is required, starting in  Spring 2024, with afternoon shifts preferred. 
Expected Salary:

$15 per hour

Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicant must have Federal Work Study status.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs.
  • Keen attention to detail.
