Job Description
ECU School of Art and Design is currently seeking several Gray Gallery Assistants. We are a small team, interested in creating a hands-on experience for students. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in contemporary art, be organized, be able to work independently, and have the ability to carry themselves in a professional manner.
Specific responsibilities will include:
-Exhibition preparation and documentation
-Archiving Gray Gallery exhibition materials and the permanent collection
-Office organization
-Database entry for inventory
-Basic art-handling (i.e. art storage, protection and organization)
-Monitoring the gallery and helping direct guests as they view exhibitions
This is a flexible position. Students will work two-three days a week during gallery hours of operation. Schedules are to be determined by student employees and the gallery curator.
Hourly rate will be $10 per hour.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Some experience using Photoshop and InDesign is preferred, but not essential.
