Position:
The Fisher College of Science and Mathematics at Towson University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biological Sciences with expertise in sustainability & environmental change or related field, beginning January 2025.

Qualifications:
Successful applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, to establish a productive research/scholarly program involving undergraduate and graduate students, and to actively pursue extramural funding for that research.
Successful candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in the biological or environmental sciences or related field and have postdoctoral experience.

Responsibilities:
The candidate’s research program should be in sustainability & environmental change; topics may include but are not limited to conservation, sustainable agriculture or natural resources, sustainable development goals, or social-ecological modelling. Teaching responsibilities may include Conservation Biology, General Ecology, or other undergraduate and graduate courses that align with faculty area(s) of expertise, including new and existing graduate courses relating to sustainability and environmental change.
The candidate will be expected to also participate in the interdisciplinary Environmental Science and Studies Program, which also affords opportunities for collaboration with a wide variety of faculty across the college and university. Faculty are assigned a reduced instructional workload and reduced service (e.g., student advising) for the pre-tenure years. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged; opportunities for interdepartmental collaborations are facilitated by shared cross-departmental lab spaces.
