Posting Context Statement
Tetonia produces all of the seed potatoes and 80% of the oat, wheat and barley seed available to northwest growers through the Idaho FoundationSeed Program.
Position Overview
This position will operate various types of farm equipment through out the year. They will operate greenhouse operations through out the year, prepare seed for sale and shipping and assist with research of cereal grains and potatoes. They will be responsible for performing minor repairs for all equipment on station, solving problems as they arise and maintaining station cleanliness.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Experience with agricultural crop production
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of farm equipment
  • Experience using electrical and hand operated shop tools
  • Experience with safety practices
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet UI requirements for driving university vehicles
  • Ability to work irregular hours including overtime hours
  • Must possess a Private Applicators License or able to obtain one in six months
Additional Preferred
  • Associate degree in agricultural related field
  • Knowledge of irrigation of various agricultural crops
  • Knowledge of farm chemicals and their use
  • Farm experience
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Work in a dusty environment, in extreme temperatures (outdoor conditions) and different building temperatures
Degree Requirement Listed degree qualification is required at time of application
