RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

IMPORTANT: Must be able to fully commit to the position with availability to the dates below:
Friday, August 9 – Guide Training

Saturday, August 10 – Move-in Day

Wednesday, August 14 - Friday, August 16, 2024

Monday, August 21 – Guide Debrief Session (online)

*Additional dates/times might be needed
 

Under the advisement of the ISSS Director and ISSS Team, the ISO Guides provide leadership in welcoming the new international students to USF:

• Participate in the ISO Guide training program 

• Facilitate welcome activities for new students 

• Serve as a resource for new students during orientation and the first few weeks of classes

• Engage with new international students during ISO programs

• Facilitate group discussions during break-out sessions 

• Serve as resource person during the ISO sessions 

• Participate on student panel presentations and/or provide brief presentations regarding San Francisco and USF

• Provide information to students and visitors regarding the ISSS orientation, programs, & services in addition to the general GO Team orientation program 

• Assist with the creation of ISO packets

• Assist with marketing outreach

• Assist with ISO event set-up, including distribution of campus signage, and ISO event clean-up

• Complete the ISO Guide evaluation

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability during orientation required

• Flexibility regarding schedule and duties assigned

• Willingness to work with a diverse group of staff and students

• Excellent communication skills (e.g., ability to give clear and concise information and instructions)

• Attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic environment

• USF undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 undergraduate/3.0 graduate) 

• Customer-service oriented, personable nature, energetic, hardworking, positive attitude, creative, responsible, reliable, etc.
