The University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiology is recruiting for a full-time Associate Professor, non-tenure, to serve within our MSK imaging section. The MSK division has been involved in numerous multidisciplinary projects with orthopedic surgery and rheumatology assessing sports medicine interventions, imaging biomarkers for rheumatological disease responses to biologics, and imaging of bone tumors. The division is interested in utilizing analytics and artificial intelligence infrastructure already in place at UPMC to develop an MSK based Radiology Outcomes Research Laboratory. The goal of the MSK-RORL would be to tailor imaging utilization practices to increase imaging’s value within defined orthopedic clinical pathways.
Job responsibilities include:
Identify best practices for imaging utilization within CMS orthopedic clinical pathways by interfacing with analytics and artificial intelligence UPMC teams.
Preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant applications.
Mentoring of junior academic MSK radiologists.
Teaching.
A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
Senior-level ABR-eligible MSK radiologist with an established track record in high-level MSK clinical research. Ability to multi-task simultaneous research projects, navigate complex matrixed research divisions, and interest in mentoring research-oriented junior faculty within the MSK imaging section.
The successful applicant will be appointed to the Department of Radiology, and the position will report to the Section Chief of MSK Imaging and the Chair of Radiology.
