Faculty Positions in Translational Research in Addiction - (2300014G)
Our new Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting several tenure-track or tenured faculty members at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. We are interested in PhD, MD, or MD/PhD candidates whose research interests focus on translational neuroscience of addiction, with research strengths in one of the following: (1) computational psychiatry, (2) experimental therapeutics (encompassing behavioral, biosocial, pharmacologic, brain stimulation, or other therapeutic avenues), and (3) pain, with an emphasis on non-addictive therapeutics.
The candidates’ research program will be in line with the mission of the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine, which is dedicated to transforming addiction research, prevention, treatment, and education across the State of Maryland. The faculty will be immersed in a highly collaborative environment with dynamic and productive research programs, state-of-the-art equipment, and outstanding core facilities. The new hires will have an appointment in a basic or clinical department at the University of Maryland School of Medicine but housed in and affiliated with the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine. We offer highly competitive salary and recruitment packages. All institute faculty are members of the University of Maryland - Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND) and the interdisciplinary PhD Program in Neuroscience.
Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
Candidates should submit, as a single PDF: cover letter; curriculum vitae; brief statement of research interests and vision; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) statement; and contact information for three references. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
