Our new Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting several tenure-track or non-tenured faculty members at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank. We are interested in MD, MD/PhD, or PhD candidates with experience in clinical trials in addiction, and research strengths in one of the following: (1) therapeutics (including pharmacologic or device-based/digital interventions); (2) pain, with an emphasis on co-occurring pain and substance use disorders, and (3) bioinformatics/pharmacoepidemiology. Priority areas include alcohol, stimulant, tobacco, cannabis use, and therapeutic use of psychedelics. Candidates with experience in developing and managing research teams, and in regulatory aspects of clinical trials are highly desirable.

 

The candidates’ research program will be in line with the mission of the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine, which is dedicated to transforming addiction research, prevention, treatment, and education across the State of Maryland. The faculty will be immersed in a highly collaborative environment with dynamic and productive research programs, state-of-the-art equipment, and outstanding core facilities. The new hires will have an appointment in a clinical department at the University of Maryland School of Medicine but housed in and affiliated with the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine.
