Tenure-track Faculty position, open rank, in the Emory Center for Neurodegenerative Disease
The Emory Center for Neurodegenerative Disease (CND), in partnership with the Goizueta Institute and multiple Departments at the Emory University School of Medicine (SOM), seeks outstanding applicants to fill multiple tenure track faculty positions with rank commensurate with accomplishments. We are particularly seeking individuals with diverse scientific interests in the neurogenerative disease research space that complement or build on current strengths of the CND. A record of, and commitment to, collaborative research in a dynamic research environment is also of paramount importance. Collaborating Departments where primary faculty appointments can be made include Neurology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, Biochemistry, and Human Genetics. Desired applicants will have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D. Ph.D., or equivalent degree(s). A record of extramural funding is strongly desired for candidates at ranks higher than Assistant Professor. Competitive start-up packages, space and other resources will be commensurate with rank and funding.

The Emory SOM is in the top tier of US national rankings for NIH funding. Emory and the CND offer extensive opportunities for collaboration within our own biomedical research community and neighboring institutions. There is a rich history of neurodegenerative research at Emory and strong infrastructure that supports that research including long standing NIH funded Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease research centers. The CND currently has over 40 members from over multiple departments with diverse basic, translational, and clinical research interests related to neurodegenerative disease. The CND has a strong tradition of mentoring and career advancement, as well as supporting physician scientists. Current strengths of the CND include proteomic and biomarker discovery, neuromodulation, drug discovery, neuroimmunology, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and modeling human neurodegenerative diseases in mouse models, iPS cell lines and organoids. The CND is positioned to undergo significant growth in the coming years. We are committed to the recruitment and professional development of women and historically underrepresented individuals.
