To support the University's mission through the department and implementation of policies and programs that attract, engage, retain, and reward faculty and staff.

About the Position:

Assists with employee engagement, rewards, and recognition, life-work, flexible work, and well-being initiatives to address faculty and staff needs. Collaborates with university departments to promote an engaged culture and help faculty and staff find solutions to the daily challenges of work, personal, and family life. Acts as the vibrant, informative voice of support that fosters a positive organizational culture to aid faculty/staff well-being and performance in support of the University's strategic goals. Supports performance management initiatives to enhance employee engagement.

Current Mason students are not eligible to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the planning and execution of engagement, reward and recognition, and performance management events and programs throughout the year;
  • Provides administrative support for one or more shared email boxes for the Faculty and Staff Engagement team;
  • Assists with performance management tracking and reminders, flexible work program, and performs various, related support duties in collaboration with other units in HR and the larger university community as needed; and
  • Administers one or more reward and recognition programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating and communicating effectively with individuals of diverse and differing needs;
  • Skilled in providing effective customer service; ability to act with tact and diplomacy;
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and creation of marketing materials;
  • Ability to prioritize work and willingness to be flexible; and
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish language fluency;
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) such as Banner, Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone, and marketing material platforms such as Canva;
  • Experience working with reward and recognition programs;
  • Experience working in a higher education environment; and
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resource practices.
