Summary

We are in search of a thoughtful and proven professional to join our administrative team. Under the direction of the Chief Department Administrator and working closely with the Department Chair, this role will carry out essential faculty affairs responsibilities for the Department of Radiation Oncology. This University of Michigan Medical School appointment will be responsible for all activities related to faculty recruitment, onboarding, credentialling, promotions, and retirements and will partner with the Chair and Chief to manage all track and title related faculty issues.

Responsibilities*
  • Faculty Recruitment for Michigan Medicine and Community Practice Sites
  • Lead for Faculty Onboarding
  • Faculty Appointment Support
  • Faculty Offboarding
  • All responsibilities are carried out in partnership with the University of Michigan Medical?s School?s central faculty affairs office.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant field of study
  • Prior experience managing faculty affairs in an academic setting
  • Kind, thoughtful, and professional written and verbal communication and conduct are central to the success of this role.
  • This role is primarily remote but will require periodic in person work in the Radiation Oncology Department at Michigan Medicine's University Hospital. Candidates are required to live within a reasonable driving distance of Ann Arbor to facilitate in person days.
  • This role will require the ability to manage time and competing priorities without supervision.
  • This role will require excellent computer skills including prior experience managing schedules, email, data management systems, and competence using Google and Microsoft Office applications
  • This role will require the ability to operate with discretion while managing sensitive information

Desired Qualifications*
  • At least four years of faculty affairs experience in a University setting

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
