Department Summary
The Facilities division of Support and Services consists of two main functions; Facilities support, and campus services. We support Facilities staff and operations by managing the Facilities operating and project budget and finances, providing procurement liaison services (purchasing, contracts and invoicing), business analysis and reporting; serving as the Facilities customer service center for all University related maintenance and construction needs by being the primary line of communication between University faculty, staff, and students and the Facilities construction and maintenance departments; and overseeing the safety and training of Facilities employees by providing current training and proper protective equipment for all Facilities staff. Campus services consists of the Facilities Central Store, which stock and supply over 4,000 items to Facilities technicians and the rest of campus; and Automotive Services, which maintains and manages over 500 motorized vehicles and equipment items.

The Facilities organization at UNT is a service provider comprised of the following divisions: Facilities Planning Design & Construction (PDC); Facilities Maintenance (FM) and Facilities Support & Services (FSS). We are responsible for the planning, renovation, maintenance and repair of university buildings and facilities, as well as other services playing an essential role to the mission of the University of North Texas. Position Overview
The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Facilities Personnel Generalist to join our Personnel team.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* This position will function as a contact between Facilities and its internal and external customers. The position will handle general employee issues and makes appropriate recommendations.
*Exhibits thorough knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and answers routine questions by staff or clients.
* Assists in the operation of the Personnel office, establishing some work assignments and protocols for customer service and coordinates special assignments and projects. Assists in the creation and delivery of best practices for the department. 
* Oversees the employment process for benefits eligible employees in the Facilities Department. Assists in the employment process for part time employees, student & non- student hourly workers.
* Serves as an I-9 Coordinator, ensuring that form I-9 and the eVerify process are completed in accordance with federal regulations.
* Create, generate, and manage reports for accuracy in timekeeping, compensatory time, and payroll. Conducts studies and prepares reports using EIS queries and other tools.
* Monitors timesheets and exceptions within EIS in consultation with department staff.
* Assists in conducting formal and informal training with all departmental employees regarding use of timesheets, eLeave, UPO15, hiring, and other processes, systems, and procedures.
* Understanding of relational database concepts and the relationship between databases and applications, or the ability to rapidly assimilate.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED equivalent and four years of experience in related
maintenance/repair field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with CMMS system(s), particularly TMA Systems’ Enterprise Desktop product. • Basic to intermediate understanding of relational database concepts and the relationship between databases and applications, or the ability to rapidly assimilate. • Experience using Microsoft Access, Excel and Word software.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or relevant program.
* Knowledge of UNT payroll/ePar/I-9 guidelines.
* Experience with EIS
* Ability to speak to large groups and conduct presentations.
* Experience using all areas of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including various functions and formulas.
* Self motivated individual who can be proactive, show initiative in quiet times, and work independently.
* Exceptional customer service experience.
Required License / Registration / Certification
Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under university liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.

Job Duties


o
