About the Department of Operations Management & Strategy (OMS)
The OMS department includes 15 full-time faculty members, five of whom teach Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship courses. Both the School and the University offer a wide range of entrepreneurship programs.

The entrepreneurial ecosystem in Buffalo has evolved into a dynamic and vibrant hub for innovation and business growth. UB plays a pivotal role in fostering regional innovation through its academic programs, the School’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL), Business and Entrepreneur Partner (BEP), the I-Corp program, the Western New Your Incubator Network (WIN), and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. These programs provide resources, mentorship, co-working space, and funding opportunities to early-stage startups, helping them refine their ideas and scale their businesses. UB is highly integrated into Buffalo’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with faculty serving as advisory board members, consultants, competition judges, and mentors. The Entrepreneurship faculty also work closely with a wide range of UB campus entities offering Entrepreneurship courses, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities.
