Position Summary

The Michigan State University Extension, Agriculture and Agribusiness Institute seeks qualified candidates for the following full time position:

Extension Educator (Muskegon, MI). Provide local, regional, statewide leadership, educational programming expertise in Farm Business Management, whole farm business and enterprise analysis. Design, implement, evaluate educational programming, farm accounting and recordkeeping, financial analysis, risk management, business transition, succession planning, income tax planning, marketing, farm seasonal, permanent labor management, general farm business management topics, economics of technology implementation, returns on investment, costs of production.

Required Degree

Masters -Agricultural, Food and Resource Economic


Minimum Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess Master’s Degree in Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics + 12 months’ exp as Researcher or any related position in agriculture and agribusiness research, analysis, education or facilitation. Must have 1 year exp in agrifood business management programs, education, farm business management consulting, understanding of farming practices, agricultural economics, agri-food marketing, using statistical software Statistix, Stata, NLogit, financial analysis. Travel required up to 50%, must be willing to travel to sites within 200-mile radius of primary work location. MSU is committed to achieving excellence through cultural diversity.
