Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. 

The Office of Academic Compliance and Regulation is seeking an experienced, confident Executive Director of University Assessment . The Executive Director of University Assessment supports and leads the university’s efforts to foster a culture of assessment and improvement. In this capacity, the Executive Director works closely with executives in the Office of the Chief Academic Officer, college deans and leadership, and university committees to refine and improve campus-wide standards, policies, and programs that support university assessment initiatives. The Executive Director supports continuous academic assessment (curricular and co-curricular activities) and improvement of student learning through consultation, mentoring, and training. The Executive Director will provide guidance and participate in the development of university policies and procedures. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community and integrate faith.

Location: Main Campus, 33rd and Camelback

What you will do:

  • Oversee the development and management of processes, systems and deliverables related to university assessment. 

  • Lead and direct the work of the University Assessment Committee.

  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to promote assessment activities across the university and measure university and program outcomes.

  • Manage, store and report on university assessment data.

  • Ensure fulfillment of the outcomes set forth in the university mission statement.

  • Mentor and train college personnel and faculty on assessment practices and processes.

  • Provide evidence of student learning and actionable data for improvement.

  • Recommend and participate in the development of university policies and procedures.

What you need:

  • Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in higher education.

  • Experience with planning and coordinating university assessment programs, projects, and activities

  • Experience with assessment requirements for compliance purposes

  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous assessment and improvement

  • Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
