The UNC SOM Clinical Research Alliance (CRA) coordinates large multi-center trials generating evidence to advance treatments that serve North Carolinians and beyond. Working with the leading scientific experts at UNC in partnership with the National Institutes of Health and Pharma, and national academic institutions, the CRA provides full-service coordination through pre to post award activities.
Activities within the CRA include proposal management and submission, protocol and CRF development, IRB and FDA submissions, site training and certification, recruitment and enrollment, data capture and management, study monitoring and safety reporting, and study compliance and quality for large scale Phase II IND studies and more.
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the position is to provide office, administrative, and personnel support for the Clinical Research Alliance and its C-Suite Executive leadership team. This position involves direct support and responsibility for managing multiple calendars, scheduling a high volume of meetings, preparing administrative documents and report preparation, assimilating and composing professional oral and written communication, creating and distributing meeting agendas, and being familiar with various technical platforms used for remote and in person meetings. This position will be responsible for all financial and organizing responsibilities for events and travel which will include but not be limited to planning and securing venues to host events, including all arrangements needed for the event (e.g., food, audio/video technology, space, etc.), as well as travel arrangements.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational problem-solving skills while demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, and clients.
Experience planning and organizing meetings and events.
Proficient in office management practices and software, to include Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
Must have experience in multiple video conferencing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline is desirable.
Executive administrative experience in a large, diverse clinical-academic setting is desirable.
