JOB DETAILS:

The Executive Assistant provides administrative and professional level assistance to the Chancellor's Office. The individual performs a variety of activities under limited supervision of the Head of Staff including, but not limited to, advanced administrative support, communication efforts, coordinating events, managing essential processes, and ensuring that plans and programs are initiated, coordinated, developed, and executed with excellence. The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and requires a broad understanding of all functions and activities of the university. This is a highly confidential position in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of attention to detail and experience in coordinating activities and events. The Executive Assistant will ensure the seamless operation of the Chancellor's office while fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required  

  • Experience providing advanced administrative support in a professional environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent judgment, including ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency with standard business software programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, Outlook).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, and editing skills.

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • Experience in a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating and supporting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field- or equivalent education and related work experience

RESPONSIBILITIES 
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling logistics for meetings and events, travel coordination, developing and facilitating internal and external communications, monitoring budgets and reviewing expenditures, and providing administrative support to the Chancellor's Office staff.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION 
The Chancellor's Office provides leadership to the university in fulfilling its Mission, Goals and Strategic Initiatives. The office is the primary contact with the Universities of Wisconsin Administration, the Board of Regents, local and state government leaders, business and industry, and is active in developing and maintaining close relationships with alumni and donors.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Minimum starting salary of $50,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan, demonstrating our commitment to the diverse needs of our employees.
