The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and technical support for the faculty and staff in the DNSC. This position is responsible for overseeing the inventory of lab supplies and materials, monitoring the simulation center expenses and budget.  The EAII assists with creating the meeting agendas, communications, minutes, and reports accurately and efficiently. The EAII independently produces multimedia assets for use in the simulation center. The EAII assists with training and troubleshooting classroom technologies throughout the Beyster Institute for Nursing Research and the Hahn School of Nursing buildings. The EAII manages Salesforce and Project Concert databases, cleaning and analyzing data and providing training for faculty and staff users. The EAII supports the assistant director in the implementation of virtual reality applications in the classroom.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative responsibilities to the Associate Dean, Director for Simulation and Innovative Learning, Clinical Nursing Lab Reception and Customer Service 

  • Provides customer service for incoming students, faculty and guests in person and via telephone.
  • Creates, maintains and coordinates calendars for simulation events, Associate Dean and Director for Simulation and Innovative Learning.
  • Prepares drafts and final edits of program and meeting communications, correspondence and reports.
  • Create and edit meeting minutes for departmental meetings.
  • Manages simulation software product orders, office and simulation lab supplies and equipment.
  • Prepares Director’s monthly Concur Expense Reports.
  • Arrange for airfare, registration and hotel accommodations for the Director.
  • Assign, track & collect lab keys for faculty and staff.
  • Arrange for cleaning and maintenance of building as needed or directed by the lab director.
  • Create and maintain check out system for any lab equipment or supplies.
  • Designated USD “EMS” program room/area scheduler for Dickinson Nursing Simulation Center (DNSC).
  • Maintains records simulation lab faculty continuing education for accreditation purposes.
  • Manages course offerings for BRN CEU requirements including scheduling, creation of required documents and tracking of certifications.

Software Support, Data Management and Training 

  • Manage the analysis and cleanup of data in Project Concert Database. Test all functionality for operational efficiency and provide training for faculty and staff.

  • Utilize media tools to produce, edit and publish multimedia assets for use in the Simulation Lab as well as on the Simulation Lab website.
  • Create training materials and deploy training sessions for faculty and staff on the use of Salesforce and Project Concert.
  • Manages course evaluation data and reports in Course Eval, including entry of evaluation questions, entry of faculty members into evaluation software application, deployment of evaluation surveys and summary reports to department staff.
  • Creates exams in Respondus, including entry of exam questions, setting up of course exams, deploying Respondus Lockdown browser/monitor.
  • Support deployment of VR equipment and simulation scenarios for use within the simulation lab.
  • Manage and troubleshoot podium and zoom technologies in the Beyster and Hahn classrooms.
  • Manage the School of Nursing Instructor Support email account ([email protected] ) responding to support requests or delegating to appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Utilizes Cascade CMS to update the DNSC website as required.

Simulation events and activities 

  • Schedule and coordinate DNSC
  • Assist with annual IPE event with UCSD School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy and other participating programs
    • Collect and manage participant reservations.
    • Organization and management of supplies for event.
    • Serve as check-in representative at the event.
    • Create and manage CEU nurse certificates.
  • Coordinate bi-annual Faculty Simulation Workshops
    • Collect and manage participant reservations.
    • Organization and management of supplies for event.
    • Recruit and organize required nursing faculty.
    • Create and manage CEU nurse certificates.
    • Assists with laboratory setup and processing of appropriate paperwork.
