Description of Work
As an Events Coordinator, you will:
  • Be responsible for advertisement and coordination of seminars, workshops, retreats, symposia, grant project events, graduate training program, and REU summer research program. Make travel arrangements and serve as the on-site manager of during events and troubleshoot situations that arise.
  • Provide administrative support for the Molecular Mechanisms of Disease (MMoD) Predoctoral Training Program, the Nebraska Redox Biology Center, and the Department of Biochemistry. This will be accomplished by assisting department faculty and program/center directors with day-to-day management.
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for the faculty, staff, and students of the MMoD predoctoral training program, the Redox Biology Center, and other research/education initiatives led by department faculty.
  • Provide a variety of administrative support duties including creating and distributing promotional materials, create and maintain a dynamic web presence for assigned units.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field plus 4 years experience in providing administrative or clerical support. Additional relevant education or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Skilled with PC-based spreadsheet and word processing software programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings and events from start-to-finish.
