University Support Services

The Event Team Leader within University Operations oversees more than 1,200 events each year. This position also ensures that work order details, including but not limited to event setup diagrams and specialized equipment, are set to customer and internal standards. The Event Team Leader role necessitates flexibility, as our full-service department provides for a variety of event-related, pickup/delivery, furniture, and general moving tasks.

Significant Duties and Responsibilities include: Conducts inventory and prepares items and equipment according to work order needs.; Ensures events are set to work order specifications.; Works with customers to understand specific needs in relation to work orders.; Troubleshoots any event-related issues; move & set up equipment to work order specifications.; Coordinates with volunteers and organizers to support outreach events.; Walks assigned areas of both campuses to ensure that all furniture and fixtures are in good condition and reports those items in need of repair.; Assists in special projects, such as setting up and moving furniture or equipment for special events on or off campus.; Assists in emergency preparations, such as clearing snow, ice, felled trees and limbs, etc. from sidewalks, roadways, and driveways.; Operates delivery trucks or other equipment to assist in loading or moving materials and products.; Works with moving and set up teams and grounds keeping teams.; Serve as a brand ambassador of University Operations and Columbus State University.; Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training.

The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $35,000 - $37,000 and includes full benefits. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities include: Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs or more.; Ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous manual tasks.; Ability to operate warehouse and delivery equipment, such as hand trucks, furniture dollies, etc.; Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.; A valid driver's license is required for this position.; Ability to work independently and in a team environment; exceptional attention to detail; the ability to lift/move heavy objects up to 100 pounds; and a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. The selected candidate must also possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
