Job Summary:

Event Services at University Housing is now hiring for the Event Production Assistant position! This role serves as a resource for questions from customers and guests during events and helps with set-up and tear-down for events within University Housing spaces.
Join our team of dedicated, supportive and creative staff, and work with a variety of events, groups, and partners on the UW-Madison campus!


Responsibilities:
Assists with event planning, set-up, execution, and documentation to ensure events meet customer needs.
  • 45% Performs on-site event set-up and clean up and may perform basic custodial duties
  • 20% Greets customers/guests, assists with registration, answers questions, and provides routine information, referring more complicates issues to appropriate entities
  • 15% Gathers, enters, and maintains accurate event data and records
  • 20% Serves as a primary contact for assigned focus area(s); supports other areas as needed. Focus areas may include AV equipment management and setup; event-related administrative duties; and/or the supervision, training, and evaluation of student staff.

Tasks:
  • Provides support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of emergency.
  • Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service.
  • Promotes and participates in a collaborative team environment.
  • Communicates with other events staff and with guests to address needs and service requests.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of guest services or event management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a higher education setting


License/Certification:

Preferred
Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards


Work Schedule:

Primary hours are either 7:45am - 4:30pm or 12:45pm - 9:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Nights and weekends will be required with notice in the summer, including an on-call rotation. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $17.72 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
This is a full-time appointment. The starting hourly wage is $17.72 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.
