DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager will have responsibility for managing and overseeing all HL7 integrations, Epic Data Courier administration, Care Everywhere and more for UC San Diego Health System. They will be responsible for ensuring strong alignment between enterprise integration assets and our business and technology strategy. Interface assets include but are not limited to: HL7 (v2/v3/etc.), Continuity of Care Documents (CCD), XML, HL7 FHIR, and more. The Integration and Interoperability Manager position will report to the Director of Enterprise Systems and will regularly collaborate with other Directors and Managers in Health IS to support organizational objectives.

Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager Requirements:

The Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager will function as the point person for all HL7 integrations and infrastructure operations supporting those environments. They will support the Epic Bridges and CorePoint operations team in their day-to-day responsibilities. The scope includes clinical operations, research operations, and engagement with programs supporting the Center for Health Innovation. A successful candidate will have a strong background in developing and maintaining and strong agile development methodology. Demonstrated experiencing in agile (spring planning, managing scrums, managing backlogs, etc.) will be a key component to a successful candidate's profile. Additional requirements include the development of roadmaps based on maturity assessments and pain points for capabilities around architecture, engineering, integration, and reporting for both our staff and technology solutions; defining roles and responsibilities to establish a sustainable enterprise cloud program, operating models, and business cases with both qualitative and quantitative analysis; collaboration and coordination with stakeholders with Health System Clinical and Financial Operations, Health Sciences Professional Schools and Research, Campus ITS, and Health IS.

Program Management Requirements:

The Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager will function as the technical and operational program manager responsible for their team's project plans in conjunction with the operational project managers to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely project and application milestone delivery. Specific duties include but are not limited to developing and maintaining project plans, directing work to other team members, creating status reports, facilitating decisions, identifying and mitigating risks, collecting and interpreting data from various sources, presenting measure and program results to clinical and operations executives, and managing evolving technical requirements.

Product Management:

The Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager will function as the technical product manager responsible for developing and evangelizing the adoption and utilization of all enterprise integration assets including, but not limited to ensuring that established best practices are leveraged for all HL7 integrations. Roadmaps should be developed in conjunction with senior leadership, operational stakeholders, and vendor advisors to ensure these products can meet business and clinical requirements including scaling across multiple dimensions. Specific duties include but are not limited to facilitating strategic planning sessions, conducting product related research, developing product requirements and specifications, producing development approaches and timelines, coordinating the integration of products into the larger enterprise product portfolio, assessing third party products/vendor solutions, communication plans, training plans, writing recommendations to senior leadership, and creating maintenance/upgrade plans.

People Management:

The Epic Integration and Interoperability Manager will be responsible for the performance management and development process to foster a collaborative and high performing team. This includes, but is not limited to: creating and sustaining a workplace culture, which aligns with the mission, vision, guiding principles, and values for UC San Diego Health. Function as an effective resource to facilitate conflict resolution and enabling collaboration across multiple teams. A key measure of success will be implementing, communicating, and maintaining strong processes to support both the cloud
