Job Summary:

The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Services Entry Clinical Science Professional for diverse research evaluating post-COVID-19 and post-critical illness recovery.  We are expanding our team to support efforts including clinical trials under FDA oversight, NIH-funded research and Investigator initiated studies.   

The person in this role, under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Research Manager, ensures the integrity and quality of clinical trials are maintained and conducted in accordance w/ federal, state, and local regulations, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals, and OMRC policies and procedures. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate completion of visit procedures and collection of information from study participants according to protocols, and for protecting the health, safety, and welfare of research participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in recruitment and selection of study participants by interviewing and documenting medical history to determine compliance with eligibility requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with each study’s protocol by providing thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit.
  • Provides study education and medical information to study participants to ensure understanding of proper medication dosage, administration, and disease treatment.
  • Documents medical data in patient chart to capture protocol requirements.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. This position could be considered for hybrid work.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field.
  • One year (1) of clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).
  • One (1) year of experience coordinating and managing administrative and clinical research activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective lines of communication with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to use independent judgment as well as work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task; establish work priorities and handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality, per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft, and COGNOS.
  • Knowledge and experience with IRB policies and procedures.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $47,743 - $60,729.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
