Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Dean with day-to-day oversight by the director of the Entertainment Industry Institute (EII) in the Mike Curb College, the EII coordinator will support of the work of the Center including events planning and execution; publicity and marketing for center activities, events, and news; acting as a Liaison with partners internal and external to the Mike Curb College including Entertainment Industry partners, visiting industry professionals, and members of the advisory board; and other duties as assigned to support the operations of the Center.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):

  • Events/Activities Planning/Coordination: act as primary coordinator for, and assist in the planning of, events, both public and internal, affiliated with the Entertainment Industry Institute, including arranging space, hospitality, and other operational needs, including providing general technical support during events.
  • Liaison with external partners: Act as liaison between industry partners and departmental, Dean’s office, and university staff regarding EII programs such as special internship placements, shadowing opportunities, and class visits/guest lectures by industry professionals, with attention to prompt and clear communication. Act as primary liaison with members of the industry advisory board. Curate master list of alumni that are currently active in the industry. 
  • Liaison with internal partners: Coordinate between EII and other entities within the college and across campus related to the entertainment industry. Mike Curb College-based partners include CTVA (all areas), Art (Animation, Illustration, Design), Music (Music Industry Studies/Media comp), Journalism (PR, student media), and Theatre (acting/directing, design). Partners external to the college on campus include Nazarian College of Business and Economics, offices such as alumni relations, the Soraya for the purposes to facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
  • Publicity/Marketing: Create and distribute event fliers, and prepare slideshows to be shown at events; liaison with appropriate campus entities to publicize/market events, activities, and news including engaging through social media.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of activities and programs in CTVA and other entertainment-related programs in the Mike Curb College and at CSUN
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Peoplesoft.
  •  Ability to interact and communicate professionally with internal and external contacts

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

The anticipated hiring range: $22.30/hr - $25.50 / hr

Full Pay range: $22.30/hr - $36.55/hr

Time Base: Part-Time 20hrs/week
