Enterprise Systems Engineer

Job Summary: 

Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure to include the implementation and design of hardware and software. This team works remote primarily, and participates in virtual meetings. Although the day to day duties consist of remote work, candidates with the flexibility to come onsite for meetings on rare occasions, and provide in-person support when necessary will be prioritized.

Job Duties:

  • Analyzes current IT operational processes, business requirements and identify new data and information technology specifications; and designs complex business, clinical, educational, or infrastructure solutions.
  • Utilizes systems specifications and formalized representations of solutions to prepare flow charts and models to support the design of system configurations that meet customer needs.
  • Monitors the performance of systems and develops, recommends and implements improvements, modifications or additions to document work.
  • Tests solutions to validate functionality and usability.
  • Utilizes system management and monitoring tools to detect incidents and determine root cause.
  • Serves as principal resource for maintaining IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other IT teams and business units to ensure solutions and process improvements meet core business requirements.
  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research and testing.
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
  • Assists with the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Education: 

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field is required.

    Will except (4 years) experience in lieu of degree.

    Experience:

    Three (3) years of IT-related experience with Linux, Windows, virtualization and enterprise storage solutions is required.

    Preferred:

    • Project leadership experience.
    • VMware vSphere and SRM administration.
    • Virtual application and desktop deployment and administration.
    • Server and file share backup administration.
    • Server and application monitoring administration.
    • Experience with on-premises and cloud data center infrastructure design and support.
    • Ability to work remotely and participate in virtual meetings as required.
    • Ability to participate in a weekly on-call rotation to provide 24x7 data center virtual infrastructure support, in-person or remote as needed.
