Description

 

Manages and administers production support, development, maintenance, and enhancement projects for mission critical enterprise-level computing applications and/or infrastructures in support of UHS/UH services and initiatives.

  • Manages critical enterprise-level computer systems including incident, change, bug/fix, performance, project and enhancement management of computing software and/or infrastructure.
  • Assures system stability, performance of related enterprise applications, integrity of enterprise corporate data structures, and capacity planning of computing environment.
  • Provides IT project leadership for the deployment of enterprise system solutions; leads efforts to deploy enhancements, fixes, and new computing architectures to improve University standards.
  • Deploys new software/infrastructure including patches and upgrades to current enterprise systems; recommends and deploys advanced technology integration solutions between systems, both internal and third party.
  • Researches, recommends and implements technology-based opportunities as they evolve in support of University Strategic Objectives; develops enhancements to mission critical enterprise business processes.
  • Selects, supervises, trains and provides technical work direction to enterprise system and database administrators and application developers.
  • Processes enterprise application enhancement requests by leading analysis, design, development and deployment initiatives.
  • Advises councils and committees on enterprise application projects, support and initiatives; participates in budgeting and strategic planning with IT executive leadership.
  • Writes enterprise application standards, policies, plans, performance and status reports.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Qualifications

     Bachelors and 7 years experience

    Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
