SUMMARY:

Texas A&M University - Commerce seeks an Enrollment Data Analyst Manager III to work in Commerce, Texas.

JOB DUTIES: Provides data required to meet the needs of the Enrollment Management Division by using query management tools and working with the Center for Information Technology, to facilitate the use of relevant, standard, or custom meaningful data from structured data sources by querying an object-relational database management system (ORDBMS) to support ad-hoc report requirements and analysis. Works to assess and devise statistical methods for identifying data patterns, and trends in data sources, and integrating data from disparate sources using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques to inform actionable insights and data-informed decision-making. Coordinates with Enrollment Management and the Center for Computer Information Systems in the acquisition, development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems and their associated upgrades. Provides ongoing technical expertise which utilizes advanced knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and University policies and procedures related to student and course information by helping to implement, validate, and test related student information systems. Ensures integrity and effective utilization of data systems by acting as system administrator for student information and determining access rights to such information, understanding University and external (e.g., FERPA) policies that regulate disclosure of student information, and coordinating with the Center for Information Technology in the management of access to systems and system monitoring. Supports core functions for the Division of Enrollment Management (e.g., Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Registrar, Outreach & Post-Secondary Programs, New Student and Family Programs, Enrollment Support Center, and Veterans Student Services) by developing and maintaining a high-level understanding of the University's student information system as well as the data and business process needs of those offices. Understands the interrelationships between student information systems and data extraction to support strategic enrollment management. Supports offices and departments outside of the Division of Enrollment Management that interface with student information systems by developing an understanding of their data and business process needs and suggesting ways to meet those needs through utilization of and/or integration with Enrollment Management information systems. Assists staff in the implementation of business process redesign solutions and new technology by providing training and documentation of solutions. Contributes to the development of policies and procedures on a broad range of issues affecting the Division of Enrollment Management by serving on appropriate committees and supporting the goals of the Division and the University. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses and conferences, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Vice President for Enrollment Management. Contributes to the overall success of the Division of Enrollment Management and the University by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

Minimum Education required: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, Math-intensive degree, or degree in Business Analytics.

Minimum Experience required: Five (5) years of experience related to the development, maintenance, and utilization of comprehensive information systems deployed by a business or educational institution is required, including two (2) years of demonstrated experience utilizing a database management system such as Oracle or similar system, SQL Server Management Studio, or other SQL query tools, and working with technologies that support analytical research and data-informed decision-making is required; and including one (1) year of experience creating and visualizing reports using Tableau or a similar data visualization too, as well as the use of statistical analysis tools such as R, WebFocus, or similar tools is required.
