Position Highlights

University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) is seeking an Engagement Lead to support a federally funded 5-year joint effort, the All of Us Research Program, at the University of Arizona and Banner Health. The All of Us Research Program is a national effort supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that aims to build the largest and most diverse database of health information of its kind that researchers can use to study health and illness. The All of Us Research Program at the University of Arizona and Banner Health will contribute significantly to the development of this database by engaging 100,000 or more participants in our region who volunteer their health data over many years.

The Engagement Lead will collaborate with the Senior Engagement and Retention Managers, Program Leadership and other stakeholders to develop and manage program initiatives in accordance with NIH-approved engagement and retention milestones. In collaboration with the Senior Engagement and Retention Managers, this role will develop and implement short-and long-term enrollment and retention strategies. The Engagement Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining strong partnership relationships, ensuring program success. A successful candidate will enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and able to build rapport with others quickly and show improved enrollment and retention metrics while growing community outreach opportunities with existing collaborators and identifying new collaboration opportunities.

*Travel: This position works from either our Phoenix or Tucson office and will require occasional in-state travel for professional committee meetings, presentations, and site events.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the engagement coordinators and promotors. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Engagement and Retention Manager as needed.  
  • Create new partnerships with outside agencies through outreach programs to increase awareness, enrollment, and retention of the research program. 
  • Nurture relationships with Banner Health and University of Arizona by creating and facilitating events and acting as a liaison for them with other agencies.
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants who meet research criteria.
  • Provide one on one support to study participants.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, and execution of enrollment, retention and protocols.
  • Assist with developing study standard operating procedures, compliance forms, and tracking documents.
  • Develop and provide study materials, education, and training materials for engagement staff to ensure adherence to program protocols. 
  • Maintain all engagement team regulatory documentation study revisions and amendments, safety, and progress reports.
  • Maintain current and accurate written and electronic records and files to support engagement research activities by entering data into various databases or electronic data-capture systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Management of a call center.
  • Knowledge of REDCap, HealthPro, Cerner, Program Management Toolkit, and Box.
  • Experience working with underrepresented or diverse groups.
  • Experience with clinical research and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes.
