8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours as necessary.
Mandatory Position
This position is designated as ‘mandatory’ and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position serves an Energy Analyst – with responsibility for support of energy usage monitoring, as well as the campus utility bill management program. Assists with campus outreach programs associated with energy management, including Facilities Management. Assists with the gathering of building automation systems (BAS) and energy-related data. Assists technicians by verifying verify proper operation of systems, electric meters, and/or flow meters. Monitors work order system for work requests – dispatching technicians, as necessary. Verifies BAS technician time and notes are entered on a timely basis.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four year college or university and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Job Duties
The Energy Analyst is responsible for supporting the Energy Manager in reduction of campus energy and utility consumption and costs. Primarily through developing & maintaining utility KPI’s. Supporting the oversite of projects/programs and departmental coordination. Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Review and develop utility metrics as well as KPI’s. Support the campus utility bill management program.
2. Track campus utility spend compared to the budget.
3. Keep up to date with what WR’s are currently being worked on and the current location of technicians and communicate with BAS Manager.
Other Work Responsibilities
1. Support the implementation of a University-wide energy needs assessment and energy management plan (energy strategies and conservation programs) that include improvements in occupant practices;
2. Collaborate with other Facilities Management units on energy conservation initiative and energy management issues and information
3. Assist with meeting coordination with other departments.
4. Order parts for WR’s as need, track shipping, coordinate with assigned tech when part arrives
5. Track open WR’s, update BAS Manager of aging WR’s
6. Verify BAS techs time and notes are entered on a timely basis.
7. Track campus utility spend compared to the budget.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
1. Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
2. Experience supporting the administration of broad variety/scope of programs/projects for completeness.
3. Experience in developing and assessing energy saving incentives.
4. Experience tracking data, track campus utility spend compared to the budget.
5. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension).
6. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Intermediate level computer skills. Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome,Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
8. Ability to work/interact effectively with persons from different backgrounds and cultures.
9. Ability to create/foster an atmosphere of teamwork.
10. Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications
Valid driver’s license required. The Energy Analyst may operate assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and must possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver’s license upon appointment to the position.
