Summary:The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at Bentley University invites applications for the Chester B. Slade endowed chair position at the professor level (or, in exceptional circumstances, at the associate professor level) starting in July 2024.

The Bentley CIS department is one of the largest IS departments among U.S. academic institutions. The department offers degree programs at the undergraduate level and contributes courses to several other programs at Bentley, including the undergraduate general education core, the graduate analytics core, MBA core, and MBA concentrations. Areas of teaching include business intelligence and analytics, applied artificial intelligence, data and information management, business process management, cybersecurity, FinTech, Health IT, IS strategy, organizational and societal impact of IT, enterprise architecture, computing and communication infrastructure, web & mobile technologies, NLP, application development, and IT project management. The CIS facultyâ™s scholarship encompasses several areas of information systems and computer science, and their research receives external funding and appears in leading publication outlets. Minimum Qualifications:
A qualified candidate should have an outstanding record of accomplishments in both research and teaching appropriate for the candidate's level of experience, an ongoing and high-quality research program, and a PhD in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the Financial Technology (FinTech) area who can support Bentleyâ™s newly launched FinTech major and other initiatives in innovative forward thinking technological fields.
