The IPPS Logistics Services located at Trade Street is integrating to be the holistic Logistics solution for campus. Once complete, this unit will be comprised of: Receiving & Distribution, Shipping & Hazardous Material Program, STORE, Self-Storage, Moving/Logistics Services, Surplus Sales, Campus Mail and Student Mail.

Serves as Emerging Technology Implementation Project Manager in Logistics --a division of Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) housed within Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position applies advanced technical project management framework and methods to manage multiple concurrent projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, or project team size, with considerable impact to the organization and our clients. Required to partner directly with stakeholders including faculty, staff, campus departments, UC San Diego Health and third party providers. Resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

Responsible for leading campus-wide-impact projects, with both inside and outside facility infrastructure.

This role is at the forefront of leading business change with significant opportunities to make a difference through business process and solution capability enhancements. Supporting the evolution of UC San Diego Logistics and enhancing the value proposition to campus, this role will implement technologies across Logistics utilizing OCR, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to support campus growth while being mindful of finding efficiencies in time and resources.

Initial focus on the implementation of a new, first of it's kind for higher education, material handling conveyance system ensuring technical requirements, integrations and timelines are met. Partner with UC San Diego Health on integrations to support operational efficiencies. Implement AI opportunities for Logistics with a focus on Surplus Sales and Moving Services.

Applies advanced business process and analysis concepts and organizational objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Selects methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

You are encouraged to review additional information about our organization at:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions; related areas of IT.

  • Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.

  • Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.

  • Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans.

  • Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, UML, UML Enterprise, et cetera.

  • Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.

  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.

  • Proven highly advanced organization and project management skills.

PREFERRED

  • Advanced Degree; Project Management Professional (PMP) and six (6) years professional experience and/or Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification(s)
  • Background check required

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
