DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Evaluate and update learning materials, examinations, and presentations related to EMS Education.

Manage data entry for upkeep of records, testing material, and student records.

Mentor and coach students at all levels of competence and document such.

Moderate, introduce, evaluate, and supervise programs presented by external instructors.

Plan, develop and teach EMS programs, specifically for emergency medical technician and paramedic courses.

Plan, develop, and present new EMS Educational programs/classes as directed under the supervision of Management.

Provide supervision over clinical rotation and internship rotations. Provide educational supervision within EMS areas at University of Missouri Health Care as they relate to safety programs; out-reach programs, and CEU/competency training.

Responsible for care and upkeep of educational equipment and facility. Responsible for the meticulous communication to management and to students about progress, variations in program progress.

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to clearly communicate educational objectives utilizing current technology.

Ability to work in multiple environments including outdoor settings.

Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee may be required ambulate, remain in a stationary position, and position self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. Qualifications

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of field paramedic experience.

One set:

-Paramedic (EMT-P or EMT-CP) licensure by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).

- EMS Instructor course by the National Association of EMS Education (NAEMSE), or Missouri EMS Instructor class, or equivalent certification. EMS Instructor course within eight (8) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

OR

- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

- Two (2) years of RN experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree or sixty (60) college hours.

ACLS, PALS, and PHTL/ITLS Instructor Certification.
