Position Information
The Department of Athletics invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, contractual position limited with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. UMES sponsors 14 Division I varsity sports with approximately 200 student-athletes.
Responsibilities
  • Determines academic eligibility for practice and  competition. 
  • Ensures conference office certification deadlines are met. 
  • Updates student-athlete information in Compliance Assistant 2.0. 
  • Enters and monitors prospective student-athlete information related to initial eligibility in the NCAA Eligibility Center portal. 
  • Creates and disseminates eligibility reports to coaches and applicable staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • One-year experience working with NCAA regulations regarding eligibility (Bylaw 14) .
  • Experience with degree auditing or academic advising.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA regulations regarding eligibility (Bylaw 14).
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  •  Ability to meet deadlines.
