Description

 

Job Purpose: Provide electrical engineering services in support of either the operation and maintenance of the campus electrical distribution system or the design, construction and operation of electrical equipment, components or systems associated with research efforts within an academic or research unit.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform design, installation and testing of electrical/electronic components.
  • Conduct basic analyses of electrical/electronic system performance.
  • Develop plans and specifications for electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems; may involve calibration and oversight of repair work.
  • Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentation associated with electrical components and systems.
  • Develop project budgets, make purchases and monitor expenses. Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work Experience: Three to four years job related experience.
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Skills: This job requires professional level knowledge and skills in the application of electrical engineering principles, processes and practices. Skills in application of regulations, codes and safety practices associated with electrical systems is required as is the use of office and engineering/technical related computer applications, databases and systems.
