JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


The Student Engagement Network (SEN) is seeking an enthusiastic new team member - an Educational Program Specialist as a wage payroll position for up to 24 hours per week. The Educational Program Specialist (Program Assistant) will facilitate and evaluate projects, events, and programs of the Student Engagement Network. This position will collaboratively develop and expand events and promote participation in student engagement programs that involve coordination between multiple units and campuses across the University and community, helping the SEN forge connections across the institution throughout the academic calendar.
The SEN Program Assistant oversees programs and events that align with institutional goals and will assess efforts to engage students in meaningful and intentional out-of-the-classroom, active learning experiences. This person is responsible for co-leading, assessing, and enhancing the student internship program which includes the participation of students from across the university every semester, including summers. The Program Assistant will help develop marketing strategies for the SEN social media platforms, primarily focusing on efforts to promote the student engagement application; and will assist with programming for the Engagement Space in the HUB-Robeson Center, the Student Engagement Expo events, and the SEN Summit program.  
The Program Assistant will help facilitate resources and workshops for students, faculty, and staff groups centered on best practices in student engagement and communicate recommendations of future program needs. Skills such as collaborative leadership, student supervision, organizing events, workshops, and programs, identifying and implementing innovative solutions, enhancing optimal support for diversity, teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills are essential to the successful completion of this work.
REQUIREMENTS
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Program and event management skills and experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail and careful follow-up with collaborators
Availability to work during summer sessions, and rarely on evenings or weekends, as needed
Demonstrated experience in building relationships and working with students
PREFERENCES
Bachelor degree in Higher Education or a related field
Experience implementing programs, events, and services in higher education
Experience working with technology (Apps, Microsoft office, and Excel)
