JOB SUMMARY
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences seeks applicants for a full-time position as an Educational Program Administrator for the Department of History. Under the supervision of the History Department Head, the incumbent will provide programmatic and administrative support to the Department, supervise support staff, and will be expected to work independently and within the defined guidelines established by the program and the supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible and related experience. One year of experience must be serving as an advanced team member.
- Excellent written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Ability to resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to implement office efficiencies, including digitizing forms and records.
- Knowledge of and facility using Kuali, Peoplesoft, and similar programs.
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs, website updating, social media maintenance, and systems for managing work of self and others.
- Ability to engage, connect, and work with diverse student, administrative, and faculty populations and provide a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time position. The University offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
