Job Summary
The Education Coordinator position plays a critical role by analyzing and supporting innovative teaching and learning activities for courses throughout the dental curriculum. This position reports to the Manager of Curriculum Services and works collaboratively with faculty and students to evaluate and support teaching and learning. The incumbent will coordinate and maintain program operations, which include program curriculum learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. The incumbent also participates in a variety of educational initiatives and activities related to the didactic and clinical DDS curriculum, serving as a liaison to campus offices including the Office of Admissions, Student Services, UCSF Registrar’s Office, Learning Technologies Group, Kanbar Center, and Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing.

We provide comprehensive oral health care services with over 120,000 patient visits per year. We offer a four-year DDS program as well as a two-year program for international dentists that culminates in the DDS degree. We have numerous specialty residencies, PhD and Master’s degree programs in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, a combined DDS-PhD program, and a combined PhD-dental specialty training program. Other graduate programs include Craniofacial and Mesenchymal Biology and Bioengineering, and a DDS/MBA program. The School is one of the preeminent oral and craniofacial research enterprises in the world, ranking number one in National Institute of Health funding for 24 consecutive years.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
- Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
- Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
- Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
- Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications.
