Job Description

Will work with education staff to plan and facilitate natural history summer day camps for children ages 5-11. Will instruct and supervise campers in natural history content through activities, games, and crafts with the help of an assistant. Will oversee daily classroom set-up and clean-up and class preparation.

 

Job Requirements

--- 

Required Education:  Bachelor’s degree, AND: 

  • 24 months of experience teaching children in a classroom setting

Skills:

  • Interest in science and natural history education. Good positive classroom management skills
  • Able to work collaboratively or independently with minimal supervision
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and able to prioritize tasks independently

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, working outside, able to lift 30 pounds, able to reach, bend and crouch.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Some coursework or experience in life science and/or natural history
  • Familiar with content on plants and animals, cultures, and prehistoric life
  • Familiar with the Sam Noble Museum’s exhibits
