Job Summary/Basic Functions

Serve as the primary liaison between schools/teachers and the Professional Education Services Office in the College of Education and Applied Human Science for students enrolled in online education programs.
The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for contacting districts to develop MOAs and schools/teachers (in the students’ preferred districts) to identify teachers willing to host EKU teacher candidates. Contact will be made through email, phone, and visits to schools to build and maintain this relationship.
Provides administrative work that requires familiarity with local schools and districts, and state and national regulations related to clinical placements. Requires the ability to communicate and work in partnership with faculty, staff, and students, as well as independently. Work progress is monitored by the immediate supervisor. The candidate will be able to prioritize and organize work to support the Director and Assistant Director of Professional Education Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: One year of experience required.

Preferred Experience: One year working in K-12 or university school system (as an aide, teacher, etc.)

Job Duties:

  • 25% - Contact school districts, schools, and teachers to make placements for undergraduate online elementary clinical courses (CED 100, 150, 200, 300, 350, 400, 450). Notify students and their assigned Clinical Educator of their placements once confirmed. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Contact school districts, schools, and teachers to make placements for MAT clinical courses (CED 810, 830, 840, 855). Notify students and their assigned Clinical Educator of their placements once confirmed. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Contact districts to obtain and develop MOAs with those districts that are only used by students in the online Elementary and MAT programs. Share these with Assistant Director of Professional Educational Services - (Essential)
  • 10% - Recruit and identify teachers that would be willing to host clinical students for online elementary and MAT program candidates during the semester. Maintain database of potential placements. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Schedule all CED meetings for students in the online Elementary and MAT programs. Create/update presentations for students in the online Elementary and MAT programs. Track online students’ KFETS and Taskstream clinical submissions. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Other duties as assigned (e.g., assist with reporting as it relates to online clinicals, i.e., CEAC, Title II, EPAC, etc.) - (Essential)
