Major Duties

Under the guidance of the Senior Advancement Services Data Analyst, the Donor and Member Services Specialist is responsible for recording and processing donation, event, and membership transactions into the constituent database, Raiser’s Edge. The incumbent is responsible for daily gifts, event registrations, and membership entries.

  • Responsible for processing of daily gift batches and preparing all batches for posting, generating gift receipts, adding and updating biographical information in constituent records in accordance with policy and procedure guides, and processing EFT payments of pledge installments.
  • Oversees the processing of corporate and foundation matching gift payments and works closely with other Resource Management colleagues on special projects related to database integrity.
  • Provides excellent customer service, professionalism, and diplomacy to resolve all gift-related matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to two (2) years of full-time, technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for required education, on a year for year basis.
  • Accounting and bookkeeping experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of gift processing standards, policies and procedures, as well as working knowledge of IRS regulations and CASE standards within higher education.  Knowledge of credit card and PCI compliance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability and specialized skills to: interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics; compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in using standard office and financial software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)"The Donor and Member Services Specialist must be able to exercise sound judgment with attention to detail to audit the data received, maintain high work standards, produce error-free output, be able to determine donor intent and address any special requests which need to be relayed to department leadership, and exercise discretion and tact in dealing with highly confidential material. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other division colleagues, donors, and students. Advanced skills in performing conditional Word merges for acknowledgment letters and receipts.  Excellent customer service, professionalism, and diplomacy. Ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple priorities.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification: Admin Analyst/Spclst / 1038 / grade 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3518 - $4900 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3518 - $6791 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational need
