ACCOUNTABILITY:
As part of the larger staff in Student Life, the Psychology Intern collaborates and cooperates across divisions and departments to create a supportive University community which encourages student learning and development in the Jesuit Catholic tradition and commits to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brief, time-limited individual psychotherapy and counseling, approximately 20-22 client hours per week.
Crisis intervention
Design and implement outreach programs for the University community
Evening/Weekend on-call duty, approximately 2 weeks during the summer semester
Consultation to University community (students/faculty/staff/family)
Liaison to Residence Hall Staff (ShARE; Student Housing and Residential Education)
University committee involvement
Administrative duties as assigned
Represent center at campus functions
Participation in 4.5 hours/week of direct supervision with primary and delegated supervisor(s)
Participation in 2 hours/week of professional in-service/seminar training
Participation in 1 hour/week of intercultural seminar (Fall and Spring semesters)
Participation in weekly staff meeting
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have an interest in working in a University Counseling Center within the context of a diverse, Jesuit Catholic university located in an urban, multicultural area; current enrollment in a Doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (and/or regionally accredited) and advanced to doctoral candidacy; completion of all Doctoral coursework prior to the beginning of the Internship; verification of readiness for Internship by the Director of Training of their graduate school, able to begin accumulating supervised doctoral hours toward licensure; successful completion of required practicum training.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Preference will be given to those candidates who have clinical experience in college mental health, crisis intervention, brief therapy, outreach, and working with diverse student populations.
