Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
As an important member of the ARLIS Security team, this position serves to support safeguarding classified information and materials within an industrial or government contractor setting.
This is an essential position supporting ARLIS security, occasionally requiring attendance on evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergency closings, such as inclement weather.
Must be able to be in the office 5 days a week

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree 

Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience working in a DoD Security field in areas such as physical security, operations security, personnel security, and information security in a classified environment
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, IC, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to operate Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access etc.
  • Working knowledge of badging, access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV, and other related security infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of relevant DoD and IC organizations, systems, websites, and databases needed to support a Cleared Defense Contractor.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to implement and enforce, basic industrial security practices, procedures, and policies relevant to work in a classified environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • Proven ability to work with software programs and other specialized computer systems configured for security operations.
  • Able to assist emergency response teams and work with police and fire departments in the case of emergencies.
  • Ability to operate two-way communications devices, cell phones, and desk phones.
  • Strong understanding of classified material control procedures, and incident response protocols.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive and classified information.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other technical and non-technical personnel in a variety of settings.

Preferences:
Preferences
  • Previous experience working in a highly classified environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using 32 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 117, NISPOM, DoDM 5105.211, Volume 1; and DoDM 5200.011, Volume 3.
  • Successful completion of basic applicable DCSA Center for Development of Security Excellence courses (or equivalent DoD/IC courses) such as: Industrial Security Basics IS122.16; Industrial Security Databases and Systems IS124.16; Introduction to Industrial Security IS011.16; NISP Reporting Requirements IS150.16; NISP Security Violations and Administrative Inquiries IS126.16 Visits/Meetings in the NISP (IS023) etc.; NISP Security Violations and Administrative Inquiries IS126.16; and NISP Self-Inspection IS130.16.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience using Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and related programs for visitor management and personnel clearance verification.
  • Working knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives, Special Access Program policies and NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 requirements.
  • Prior experience in industrial security administration within the defense industry or government sector.
  • Possess an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to perform inspections both inside (e.g.- desks checks) and outside of facility (exterior building and grounds; this occasionally requires visual checks under raised floors and above ceilings
  • Spend long periods of time standing and walking when escorting uncleared visitors or similar access-control related duties
  • Perform data entry and security-related computer-based tasks for significant periods of time
  • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory alarms and other indicators of emergency situations within the time and response parameters outline in the appropriate DCIDs, ICDs, NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117, and facility operating procedures
  • Occasional lifting and moving of equipment and supplies with weight of up to 25- 30 pounds.
  • This is an essential position supporting ARLIS security occasionally requiring attendance on evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergency closings, such as inclement weather.
