Career Readiness Learning Objectives
Professionalism. The Student worker will have to demonstrate confidence, courtesy, and charisma as they will interact with all positions within the University, from VP’s and Deans to Faculty and Staff.
Technology. The Student worker will use software, both on a mobile device and on a PC to ensure the integrity of packages delivered.
Critical Thinking- The student worker will need to process and organize the daily tasks define by the current situation, (ie. income shipments, freight delivery, call-offs, and volume increases) and effectively complete the tasks at hand.
As a Distribution Work Study, you will be responsible for sorting mail into proper departments and mailboxes, and delivering mail and packages to departments while interacting with university personnel and students. Offer exceptional customer service skills while waiting on students at the front desk.
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift heavy packages safely.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to walk the University in all types of weather safely.
Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
