The Center for Automotive Research (CAR) in the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University seeks a Distance Education Program Specialist for Distance and Digital Education to manage development and implementation of credit and non-credit distance learning curriculum at CAR and serve as the primary point of contact for Distance Education activities. The Distance Education Program Specialist will work with CAR leadership to execute strategic vision and provide comprehensive oversight of CAR’s distance education program in collaboration with faculty, students, and industry partners to enhance the center’s impact on distance education in the areas of electrification and mobility research. This position will be responsible for understanding and assessing current, potential, and future digital educational resources including integration capabilities and expansion abilities; research, analyze, and produce regular reports and analysis reflecting on enrollment, student characteristics, and trends; facilitate unique academic and industry partnerships and establish a network of industry contacts through participation in professional/trade associations, conferences, and other professional networking organizations. The Distance Education Program Specialist will be the main point of contact when interacting with the college and university’s technology departments and the Office of Distance Education and E-learning (ODEE). This position will assist the CAR Communications Specialist with the development and production of marketing and digital media material including a distance learning specific web page to inform external constituencies of Distance Learning opportunities at CAR; and oversee program budgets with the assistance of CAR’s fiscal team by closely monitoring expenses, cash flow, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

Minimum Education


Required
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience:
Required:
6 years of experience in Program Development, Planning and Administration in the context of Instructional Design; Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; Ability to interact and collaborate with faculty and administrators in an academic environment; Technical proficiency with Learning Management System (LMS) and Digital Learning Tools

Desired: Experience with credentialing and certificate programs; Project Management experience; Understanding of Data Privacy and Security; Understanding of Accessibility Standards and Inclusive Design Practices  

The target hiring range for this job profile is $53,800- $71,700. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
