The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Director, Projects, & Budget SC&M on the Dahlonega campus. The Program and Finance Director within the Strategic Communications and Marketing Department will play a pivotal role in the operational and program management of the department. This position require a dynamic individual with a keen understanding of financial management, strategic decision-making, project direction and modern marketing and communications practices.

  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and project costs effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize impact. Monitor financial performance, identify areas for optimization, and make data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. Maintain knowledge base of applicable financial policies and protocols.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee all aspects of multiple communication and marketing projects from conception to completion. Coordinate cross-functional teams, set project timelines, and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify and leverage internal and external resources to support communication and marketing initiatives. Cultivate relationships with vendors, agencies, and other partners to enhance the department's capabilities.
  • Decision Making: Exercise independent judgment and discretion in making strategic decisions that drive the success of communication and marketing efforts. Evaluate risks and opportunities and take proactive measures to mitigate challenges. May represent the VP at meetings and in discussions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, media, and community partners.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated skills in personal communication, financial acumen, analysis and critical thinking. 
    Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines; 
  • The ability to work in a professional, team-oriented environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Finance or a closely related discipline to the previously mentioned areas.
  • Minimum 7-10 years in a professional marketing / services role with experience in project management, financial management/budgeting and modern communications/marketing approaches.
  • Five (5) or more years of marketing / professional services experience in a higher education environment, Law, Finance or similar sectors. Experience and knowledge of digital and traditional advertising management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles, content marketing concepts, strategies and best practices preferred.
