Job Summary
 

The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will lead the University's strategic initiatives for attracting new undergraduate students, utilizing innovative approaches to achieve enrollment targets. This role involves close collaboration with academic departments and various campus units to ensure a cohesive and effective enrollment strategy. Informed by data-driven decision-making and a deep understanding of admissions and enrollment management best practices, the Director will align strategies with the University's mission, vision, available resources, and market demands. The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will lead the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, overseeing a dynamic team of professionals and student employees across multiple campuses. This includes managing freshmen recruitment, transfer and special population recruitment, operations and application processing, visitation and events, as well as new student and family programs, including orientation. The Director will consistently uphold the core values of the Division of Enrollment, Marketing & Student Success, embodying a steadfast commitment to service, collaboration, and excellence.


Responsibilities
 
  • Develop strategic, data-informed new student admission recruitment, marketing, and enrollment strategies and goals in collaboration with Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success leadership and responsible for the creation and execution of yearly recruitment plan
  • Lead Undergraduate Admissions staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and providing professional development
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and presentation of new student admissions data to evaluate progress towards goals, identify areas of concern, and highlight pertinent trends. Utilize these insights to guide recruitment initiatives across the entire recruitment cycle and inform strategic planning for the future
  • Serve as campus resource for recruitment, admissions, orientation, and new undergraduate students enrollment, establishing relationships with key partners in all areas
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and University regulations concerning student admissions
  • Assess and assist in developing needed technologies to improve services to students and efficiencies in processes
  • Provide effective budget management and oversee fiscal operations by establishing cost controls and spending plans for multiple large budgets
  • Engage and recruit prospective students, their families, supporters, community partners, and other stakeholders to actively support the college search process, fostering connections that ultimately contribute to the growth of new undergraduate enrollments at Georgia Southern University

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working in college admissions

Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Experience

  • Eight (8) or more years of undergraduate admissions experience
  • Admissions experience at a large, multi-campus institution

Proposed Salary
 

$90,000 - $105.000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

  • Strong knowledge of Banner student information system and Technolutions Slate or other commonly-used admissions CRM platforms

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
