Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Department Information
 

The school is a leader in Instructional Technology! We offer advanced degrees (MED, EDS, EDD) in Instructional Technology, as well as endorsements in Online Teaching and Personalized Learning. Most of our programs are fully online yet cohort-based, so you can connect and collaborate with your peers. You will love our faculty. They are caring, compassionate, and committed to your success.

Additionally, we are among a few schools in the nation that are authorized to offer ISTE certification preparation to our students. Finally, we are the only university in Georgia to offer a B.S. degree in Learning, Design, and Technology.


Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor and Director of the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation (SITI) in the Bagwell College of Education with a preferred start date of July 1, 2024.


Responsibilities
 

As a key member of the College's administrative leadership team, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cultivate excellence and provide visionary leadership for innovative research, educational initiatives, and accreditation of SITI's academic programs including the BS in Learning Design and Technology, the MEd, EDS, and EDD in Instructional Technology, and graduate endorsement certificates. 
  • Lead faculty and staff (Office Managers, iTeach Director, TRAC Program Manager, BCOE Technology Coach) within SITI. 
  • Provide leadership, supervision and strategic direction for all units within the school, including iTeach, TRAC, Innovation Lab, and the BCOE Technology Professionals.
  • Support, sustain, and expand the scholarly excellence of the school, and endeavor to be the leading undergraduate and graduate programs in the country.
  • Collaborate with the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation faculty and partners, to design, execute, and align the schools strategic plan to that of the college and campus strategic plans.
  • Demonstrate effective and innovative leadership practices, including a commitment to shared governance. 
  • Evaluate faculty and staff performance according to school and university guidelines. 
  • Oversee the fiscal management of school resources.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Dean and university leadership.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.


Required Qualifications
 
  • An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Instructional Technology or closely related field with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured Professor in the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation in the Bagwell College of Education at KSU is required.
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching, supervision, and mentoring; research and creative activity; and professional service related to the instructional technology discipline.
  • Evidence of building and sustaining a positive and supportive workplace culture and climate.
  • Leadership experience in higher education, including evidence of organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Experience as a Birth-12th grade educator.
  • Prior experience as a department chair or equivalent leadership, including strategic planning, managing budgets, and supervising personnel.
  • Record of advocating for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining collaborative relationships and in sustaining effective communities of practice. 
  • Experience with shared governance.
  • Experience with undergraduate and graduate program development and recruitment.
  • Experience with multiple modes of instructional delivery.
  • Experience acquiring external funding and supporting research initiatives.
  • Evidence of understanding the complexities of Birth-12 education and teacher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain partnerships with stakeholders including industry and Birth-12 schools.
  • Experience in using evidence-based research and best practices to design innovative solutions for enduring challenges in teacher preparation.
  • Record of involvement in professional organizations at the state, regional, and national/international levels.
  • Experience with program assessment and accreditation.
  • Experience managing multiple units with varying missions, objectives, and personnel.
