As the director of student employment, you will plan, develop, evaluate, interpret, and enforce policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs. In this position you are an authoritative resource regarding interpretation of federal and state laws and regulations and institutional policy. In this role you will conduct strategic evaluation, planning, and selection. You will also monitor awards and expenditures, prepare fiscal management reports, and perform statistical forecasting and fiscal planning for federal, state, and institutional funds. It is your responsibility to develop programming, outreach, and training materials; serve as a liaison to the university community regarding student employment; and oversee the department. Additionally, you will supervise and evaluate staff in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the university's policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, the public, the university community, and external constituencies
  • Ability to evaluate process efficiency and implement improvements
  • Proven history of critical thinking and ability to work independently with knowledge of student employment regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Background in student employment or human resources

Travel Required:  

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
