Job Description
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Real Estate Development provide project oversight of public-private partnerships during the structuring and negotiating of transactions, planning, design, and construction phases. Advances projects by coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered timely, within budget, and under the terms of any applicable agreements. Directs and manages a variety of 3rd party consultants ranging from planning to legal to advance project-specific goals and broader planning objectives.

Salary Range
$140,000 - $170,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties
- Provide administrative oversight of real estate development projects; works closely with architects, engineers, contractors, designers, consultants, legal, and other key personnel to advance a wide variety of diverse projects including, engineering and architectural planning, tenant improvement build-out, public-private developments, and master planning.
- Provide oversight in the performance and management of real estate development projects to ensure the lease or use of campus land or buildings by non-University tenants, or lease or use of non-University real property by University tenants, achieve established project goals and outcomes.
- Advance projects through leveraging understanding of real estate development and entitlement process, property valuation, leasing, and construction.
- Serve as a liaison between private development projects, municipal partners, and university stakeholders.
- Monitor projects and provide status reports inclusive of schedules that identify project milestones, issues, required actions, or key decisions.
- Establish and maintain effective cross-departmental relationships to advance projects serving many stakeholders.
- Work with municipal partners to secure approvals, certifications, and permits as applicable.
- Prepare ad-hoc strategic and project analyses in support of executive management and or related to project approvals.
- Supports the Vice President of Real Estate Development across a wide variety of tasks to advance the University’s strategic real estate objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Project Management, or a related field AND five years of increasingly responsible real estate acquisition and property management experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field AND eight (8) years of experience in such fields as property development, property acquisition, disposition, lending, brokerage, general contracting, and/or property management, which includes two (2) years of direct property development experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Ability to handle interruptions throughout the work day while still completing a high quality work.

- Supervision and property management of the Brickyard on Mill, the Downtown Phoenix campus and other properties.
- Conceptual and site feasibility studies.
- Market studies, infrastructure analysis, historic preservation and neighborhood services.
