Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Bryan School of Business and Economics is comprised of six academic departments and centralized support services. In addition to providing academic and administrative leadership for School, the Bryan School Dean’s Office provides support for research, student services, information and instructional technology, human resources, and budgeting.
Undergraduate online degree programs in the Bryan School include eight BS degree programs and one BA degree program. Together, there are almost 1,200 students enrolled in these online programs.
Position Summary
The Director of Online Programs is tasked with program administration, academic advising, recruiting and student outreach. The primary areas of responsibility will be to administer and manage the undergraduate online degree programs in the Bryan School and manage direct reports. The Director’s office is responsible for recruiting students and pre-enrollment advising for all online undergraduate programs in the Bryan School, as well as serving as the primary advisor to students enrolled in the online BS in Business Administration degree program.
The Director will be required to work closely with Bryan Undergraduate Student Services, which has primary advising responsibilties for the remaining online students, making sure that online students receive information and levels of service consistent with, or better than, that provided to main campus students. The Director will be required to work closely with the Office of External Affairs to coordinate marketing efforts with recruitment efforts. The Director will be required to work closely with the Associate Dean and Department Heads to plan online course offerings, making sure there are sufficient online course seats offered to meet the demand from online students including both 15 week and 7 week terms. The Director will be required to work closely with other UNCG offices, such as Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Financial Aid, and the Division of Student Success to ensure coordination of activities and integration of knowledge and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in academic advising and/or student recruitment.
  • Adept at interacting with others in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field with a preference for Business or related area, OR Student Affairs.
  • Experience working with online students and online delivery of student services and support.
  • Experience working with transfer students.
  • Experience with student data systems including Banner Student, WebFOCUS, and Slate or other similar student information systems.
  • Ability to understand and interpret data and make forecasts of program needs based on the data.
